POSITION: Administrative Assistant

PAY: $15.42 to $16.42 P/Hour DOE

The new Administrative Assistant (AA) will provide general and administrative support to the Milwaukee Artist Resource Network (MARN), management and its Board of Directors. He/She/They will work in our new location in the Historic Third Ward. The MARN ART + CULTURE HUB will be home to our administrative offices, state-of-the-art gallery, coffee and wine bars and meeting rooms. It is preferred that He/She/They have working knowledge of Milwaukee’s creative community.

Duties and Responsibilities
Organization and prioritization are the core elements of the Administrative Assistant's responsibilities.  Duties and responsibilities revolve around supporting management and the Board of Directors. On any given day, He/She/They may perform a variety of tasks, such as:

• Answering phones and greeting visitors
• Schedule appointments and maintain calendars
• Schedule and coordinate staff and other meetings
• Collate and distribute mail
• Prepare communications, such as memos, emails, invoices, reports and other correspondence
• Write and edit documents from letters to reports and instructional documents
• Create and maintain filing systems, both electronic and physical

Skills and Qualifications
In order to perform these duties, He/She/They must exhibit many varied skills and qualifications. The is a support position, meaning that communications and decision-making are paramount. Additionally, the following skills are highly preferred:

• Decision-making
• Communications and collaboration
• Organizational skills
• Writing
• Word processing, spreadsheet and graphics software skills

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently (3/4 time) required to talk, hear, sit, and use hands to handle or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally (1/4) time required to stand, move from one location to another, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally (1/3 time) lift and/or move up to 25 pounds to move items such as storage boxes and supplies. The employee must display sufficient close, distance, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus to perform job duties.
