Located in the Bay View neighborhood, we are10 minutes by car to UWM, on a major bus route, and 10 minutes from downtown, and MIAD. Humboldt Park is just a few blocks from the house, the Bay View library is very close, and there are many nice restaurants, music venues, bars, and shops in walking distance. Street parking is readily available (an inexpensive permit is required).

The room being offered has a large closet and two windows facing the street.

The house is huge, with ten-foot tall ceilings; big windows and parquet inlaid wood flooring. There are several common rooms; a living room, dining room, two bathrooms, a front & back porch, and a small back yard. We all share the kitchen, and can use shared dishes, pots and pans.

The residents are 4 women artist ranging from 29 to 49. We are kind of quiet (but fun), not a “party house.” We are open to any gender, any orientation and any age.
Non-human residents: There are three lovely cats and a parakeet- so sorry but we are at pet-maximum!

Member benefits and responsibilities
Each member of the URBAN ARTISANS cooperative will have a private bedroom, a studio area, use of the woodshop and tools, and access to an extensive art library. There are several shared spaces, which can be used for exhibiting art or hosting workshops with the consensus of the household. Regular attendance at a twice-monthly meeting is required to keep up with how everyone is doing. One of the meetings will consist of art making, or a house project and sharing a meal.
