Alive in the Arts Opens at the Plymouth Arts Center

The Plymouth Arts Center will open a new fine art exhibit in its Gallery 110 North on Friday, May 12th. “Alive in the Arts” is the organization’s 22nd annual juried show representing Wisconsin Fine Artists. Entries to this annual competition were received from artists living and working all over the state of Wisconsin. 97 Artists submitted over 180 pieces of original art, which were reviewed by the Juror/Judge, Graeme Reid. Reid selected 75 artworks for this exhibit. The public is invited to meet the artists at the opening reception from 4:30pm to 7:30pm. One Thousand dollars in cash awards will be presented in an awards ceremony at 6:30 pm. Live musical entertainment will be presented by Drea Wagner, Pianist, from 4:30 to 5:30pm, and Lily Montes, Griffin Montes, Violinists, with Accompaniment by Dan Ognavic, from 5:30-6:30. Presenting sponsors for this exhibit are: Wisconsin Bank & Trust and 20/20 Visions, Dr. Sharon Roberts and Dr. Bradley Wicklund. About the Juror: Graeme Reid is the Director of Collections and Exhibitions at the Museum of Wisconsin Art. Born in Scotland, he holds two Masters degrees from the University of Glasgow and from Indiana State University. Over the years he has curated over 120 group and solo exhibitions. Reid is an experienced judge on a local, regional and national level, an award winning writer on the arts, has taught at ISU and Purdue University and is a regular guest lecturer in Wisconsin. Gallery 110 North’s hours are Tuesday-Friday, 10 - 4 pm, Saturday - Sunday, Noon-3 pm. Closed Mondays and Holidays. Admission to the Gallery is always free.
