Conversation Starters /kɑnvərˈseɪʃ(ə)n ˈstɑrtər/ noun: A thought-provoking talk-back series providing information and context for contemporary issues BEYOND THE HEADLINES. Join Jewish Museum Milwaukee as WUWM’s Joy Powers moderates a three Wisconsinites panel about their roles and perspectives regarding the 2011 redrawing of Wisconsin Assembly Districts boundaries and subsequent lawsuit. Representative Fred Kessler of the Wisconsin State Assembly 12 District and redistricting consultant will explain the demographics, measurements and processes associated with redistricting. Matthew Rothschild, Executive Director of the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign, a nonprofit, nonpartisan watchdog group dedicated to clean government, will look at redistricting from a citizen’s perspective for fair representation. Mary Lynne Donohue, Sheboygan Alderwoman and one of the Plaintiff in the redistricting law suit will explain the effects of redistricting on her aldermanic district in Sheboygan, and her personal reasons for becoming involved.
