Adventurer, television personality, and author Josh Gates is the host and executive producer of the new Travel Channel series, Expedition Unknown. The show takes viewers around the world and off the map for thrilling investigations into history's most iconic legends. From Amelia Earhart to lost Incan cities, Gates travels to some of the most remote corners of the planet in immersive, hilarious, and nail-biting journeys of discovery. The series blends his unique brand of humor with a passion for exploration. For five years, Josh also served as the host of the immensely popular Ghost Hunters Live, in which he attempts to not freeze to death while broadcasting for six hours straight in the freezing cold. In 2011, the Halloween special made Syfy the #1 rated cable network in primetime (and made Josh the #1 human popsicle in primetime). In 2010, Josh hosted the live 100th episode of Ghost Hunters from the historic stage of Studio 8H in Rockefeller Center. He has also appeared on The Today Show, CNN, and a variety of other national television and radio programs. More of Josh’s travels are chronicled in his bestselling book, “Memoirs of a Monster Hunter,” which was published by Simon and Schuster in 2011. Josh currently resides in Los Angeles and on airport floors around the world.
