  • “Lady #2”Lady #2

This collage is made with a pornographic image of a young women, she is censored and made anonymous with exotic birds punched out from an children's illustrated story of Aesop's fable : The lion and the mouse. In today's society female children are raised to be meek and quiet, laced in pink and pure whites. When they become of age, society shames them for being sluts, victims and outspoken. This is my reaction.

  • “In the city”In the city

We raise women to be subservient to men, we praise and reject them on their physical appearance and hold them to the highest of standards and even pressure them to fall into norms. • “Vanity”Vanity

We consume fossil fuels to create fashion and items we do not need to survive. But at what cost? The cost of our environment, our community, our animals and ourselves.

  • “City Brights”City Brights

Americans consume oil at an alarming rate. Every time we choose to ride instead of walk we pollute our environment. One day we will look back and remember the exact moments when we choose our status over the world we live in.

artist statement

I work from a personal place between my conscious and subconscious mind. I am inspired by dreams, wild thoughts, and experiences I have in reality. My art is concept based, but since I use many different medias each idea can manifest itself in different forms.
The mediums I am most comfortable with are photography, collage, fiber, art, fabric, as well as written work. I am continuously trying new techniques of art making.
All of my work is entangled with deep-rooted ideas of conservation, social awareness, personal identity and cultural exchange.
