artist statement

I have an intense interest in the humanness of non-human objects, always looking for that awkward gesture or irregular line. It is this object that becomes the foundation for my investigation. Whether it is birch trees or mops, the object is ambiguous purposely leaving room for interpretation.I'm interested in the interplay of gesture, line, color, form and texture, and how those can figuratively obscure the object while still relaying humanness.
