- “Saturn's Crown”
Stained Glass Mosaic Art Series, 2017 Acrylic on Canvas 45 x 30" Private Collection Photo credit: Ken Brown In a world of pieces that sometimes fit, colors that sometimes merge, and figures that sometimes connect we have this work that embodies a sort of Universal Creation. A glimmer of light that shines down hope upon us all. The stars were fully aligned on the day this work was born.
- “Freedom's Captives”
Stained Glass Mosaic Art Series, 2017 Acrylic on Canvas 16 x 20" Private Collection Photo Credit: Ken Brown This mosaic style painting explores the themes of freedom and capture. Each figure is in some way connected to each other which suggests a type of unity which is further solidified by an even and impartial mix of colors. Identified figure can be seen in a montage of positons. Some have found the hidden figures soaring, seated, chained, resting, weighted, and surrendering. A hemisphere located near the top of the piece seems to symbolize the height or apex in a planetary or solar form.
- “Woman Of Color”
Portrait Series, 2017 Acrylic on Canvas 16 x 20" Private Collection Photo Credit: Ken Brown This portrait features the colorful visage of a young woman set to an equally as colorful background. Her expression seems to conceal just as much as it reveals. It is part of my Abstract Portrait Series. The original has found its way into a private collection.
- “Caught In A Glance”
Portrait Series, 2014 Acrylic on Canvas 16 x 20" Private Collection Photo Credit: Ken Brown This has been a crowd favorite at many of my art exhibitions. This portrait can be interpreted in so many ways. It has been an enjoyable conversation piece that I am delighted to have on permanent collection at my home gallery.
- “Justice”
Juxtaposition Series Acrylic on Canvas 24 x 48" Private Collection Photo Credit: Ken Brown This painting was created during my career as a Probation & Parole Agent. It has many themes and symbols open for interpretation. It is now hanging in the State Capitol of Madison at the Madison Training Center.

artist bio
Established Artist & Illustrator
I currently live in Milwaukee Wisconsin, primarily working out of my home studio. I have earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration from Kentucky State University. Among several highlights of my professional career, teaching art for over a decade to middle and high school students has been the most rewarding by far. It has allowed me to share my passion and love for art to many students and families.
artist statement
I have watched my abstract art style evolve over the years to become what it is today. Art is the language I chose to communicate my deepest feelings, dreams, and concerns. Visual art has given me a voice and a platform with which to connect to a much broader audience.
My signature style and most significant body of work I call "mosaic/stained glass" art. It is characterized by interconnected lines, shapes, and colors that resemble the stained glass art form of the medieval time period. It is in this specialized art technique that I express my love, appreciation, and respect for the human form.
Art is one of the most amazing treasures I have ever known. It is a gift I have been given and I am grateful for the opportunity to share this gift.
