artist bio

I have been a full-time artist since retiring from teaching in 2012. I owned a studio and gallery, Studio Blip, in Milwaukee’s Third Ward for several years. I now work from my home in Shorewood, Wisconsin.

I graduated from the Layton School of Art (now MIAD) in Milwaukee and practiced commercial interior design for 25 years before becoming an educator. I was a faculty member at Milwaukee Area Technical College for 19 years in the Interior Design program. I now teach continuing education art courses at the Sharon Lynn Wilson Center for the Arts in Brookfield.

artist statement

I create in various dry media such as graphite, charcoal, colored pencil and pastels as well as acrylics and oils and fine art woodburning. I am interested in exploring unconventional media and in portraying the human form and the natural environment.
