Cheryl Casden

artist bio

Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Casden graduated from Adlai E Stevenson High School in 2009. Soon after, she was offered a tuition scholarship to study at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design (MIAD). In her junior year, she jumped at the opportunity to study abroad in Israel at Bezalel School of Art and Design in Jerusalem. Both schools expanded and refined her excitement for creating, exhibiting, and curating art. In recent months, she has been focusing on building her business The Golden Teardrop, a teardrop trailer turned traveling art installation.

Casden has shown at several gallery events and group shows including, MAM after Dark, Discovery World, Milwaukee Public Market, Soup’s On, The Brewed Cafe, Stonefly Brewery, and at numerous Art Milwaukee events. In addition, she has vended and live painted at numerous music festivals throughout the Midwest.

artist statement

I like to emphasize this “light” or intuition that brings transcendental experiences. In these moments of “letting go”, I believe we can truly become the conductors of our own symphonies, directing ourselves towards our higher powers and intentions. I enjoy channeling this attitude into performance, installation, paintings, mixed media work, and video art.
