artist bio
“One inch ...One simple, little inch can change your life.”
THE JOURNEY
Cyndy grew up on a small, family farm in the Midwest where a strong work ethic and an independent spirit were cultivated. She spent time wandering the woods and fields, developing a love of the landscape and an appreciation of the rhythm and color of the natural world.
Although she was interested in pursuing a degree in the creative arts after high school, her parents felt a more practical choice would be to pursue a career in business. Following her parents’ wishes, she eventually graduated with an MBA, and went to work for major corporations in Human Resources. Her independent spirit and strong work ethic brought her career success, but, she never lost her love of all things art.
THE RECKONING
Shortly after relocating to Nashville for a career move, Cyndy was involved in a near-fatal, head-on collision with a city bus. It was this event that caused her to evaluate what was truly important in life... and her creative voice spoke out. If she wanted to make art, she’d better get to it because there may not be another tomorrow. She left the comfort of her business career and began her artistic pursuits.
Cyndy studied art at Austin Peay University and received her Associate in Interior Design & Art from Watkins College of Art, Design&Film. She has been juried into numerous local and national art shows.
Cyndy’s art can be seen at her studio at the Springs Artisan Studios & Gallery, 519 Wisconsin Ave. Waukesha,

artist statement
“Creating Art resonates as a metaphor for my life. The push-pull of contrasting colors represents the push-pull of the daily demands we face. We give, and we take; we struggle; we work; we compromise. The drips and dribbles of paint as it runs down the canvas mimics the meandering path we often take as we weave our way through life’s daily challenges. I have learned that the body intuitively knows what it needs. If you can be quiet and listen to that voice, it will guide you to the place you need to be."
