Message from the MARN Board of Directors

In response to the unprecedented COVID-19 crisis, the MARN Board of Directors created the MARN COVID-19 RELIEF FUND to assist our members during this time of need. , MARN has sent out over fifty $250 micro grants to our members. Due to the overwhelming demand for this assistance, the initial round of funds has been depleted. As more funds become available, MARN will continue processing applications received on a first come first serve basis. Lastly, we found that there were issues with some of our recipients using the electronic payment option through Zelle®. Going forward, MARN will be sending checks to all awarded recipients. We apologize for any inconveniences this may have caused.

Helpful health links:

· Stay up-to-date with information from the Center for Disease Control (CDC), including informational videos.

· See a list of Milwaukee's free and income-based clinics, some of which can provide care with or without insurance. Contact the clinics directly with any questions.

Most of the CDC and government information has been in english and if you use the translate button sometimes it doesn’t translate everything or it’s very wrong. Because of that, 7 Latinx community organizers have created this Facebook page for Spanish speakers to get correct information. If you know Spanish speakers please share.

Another good resource to know about is the Milwaukee County Social Services Hotline. To connect by phone, dial 211 and folks can get help/info about an array of non-emergency things. For example, if you need to know information about food pantries in your zip codes, shelters, etc.

Rauschenberg Foundation Is Launching Emergency Medical Grants for Artists Who Need Help Paying for Healthcare

Mental Health Resources

Psychiatric Crisis Line Provides immediate emergency counseling and referrals 24/7 from the Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division at 414-257-7222.

Crisis Text Line Text “HOME” to 741741 at any time to text with a trained crisis counselor. Also available on Facebook Messenger.

National Suicide Prevention Lifeline Call 800-273-8255 for 24/7 support or for crisis prevention resources for you or loved ones.

NAMI The National Alliance on Mental Illness has a COVID-19 page with updates, resources and advice, along with a helpline at 800-950-6264 or text “NAMI” to 741741.
